Camp Fire’s Absolutely Incredible Kid Day
Mar 16 all-day

TELL KIDS HOW ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE THEY ARE;

Celebrate Camp Fire’s 20th annual Absolutely Incredible Kid Day

March 16th marks an absolutely incredible milestone: Camp Fire’s Absolutely Incredible Kid Day®.

In the past 20 years, millions of kids across the country, including thousands of youth across Hancock County, have received letters of love and encouragement from caring adults in their lives in celebration of the annual youth recognition campaign. This year, Camp Fire Northwest Ohio is taking it one step further.

Make it your goal on March 16th to send out letters to all of the children you know: a son or daughter, grandchild, niece or nephew, neighbor, student … the list can go on and on. These special people deserve to know how valued and appreciated they really are, and Absolutely Incredible Kid Day® is just the time to tell them. On social media, tag your posts with #AIKD to let everyone know how special they are.

“Obviously by making this challenge, we will be increasing the number of kids who receive letters,” said Michelle Huff, C.E.O., Camp Fire Northwest Ohio. “But beyond that challenge are more and more children who will feel highly-regarded and admired. Through words of encouragement, we energize the child’s drive for success in the future.”

Camp Fire’s Absolutely Incredible Kid Day® is a national letter-writing campaign to honor children and has been deemed an overwhelming success by child care experts, educators, celebrities, leaders, parents and kids everywhere.

Absolutely Incredible Kid Day® supporters include national figures such as celebrities, former Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton; family authority, Sylvia Rimm, Ph.D.; and sports heroes Jerry Rice and Jeff Gordon. Visit the national Absolutely Incredible Kid Day® web pages at www.campfire.org or Facebook us to view letters written to America’s youth.

Camp Fire Northwest Ohio will celebrate Absolutely Incredible Kid Day® locally by honoring the memory of Jeri Bjorling and her passion for Absolutely Incredible Kid Day.  Bjorling was instrumental in bringing the national AIKD event to Findlay, Oh. She was a child advocate and dearly missed by our community. Bjorling wrote a letter to her son, Ben, every year  – all the way through to college. They both valued what those letters meant to their relationship, and so Camp Fire Northwest Ohio continues in her honor. The community can celebrate Jeri Bjorling’s life by continuing to write letters to children.

Locally Camp Fire Northwest Ohio on March 16, 2017 is celebrating Jeri Bjorling’s Absolutely Incredible Kid Day® has kicked off with letter writing kits moving throughout several local businesses, such as Rolling Thunder, Awakening Minds Art, The Courier, Marathon and many others. In honor of the 20th annual Absolutely Incredible Kid Day®, Camp Fire Northwest Ohio is establishing a goal to mail 5,000 letters. Nationally, the goal of Absolutely Incredible Kid Day® is for every child to receive a letter. It can be left on a pillow, mailed, stuck in a lunch box, e-mailed, read over the phone or read in person. Camp Fire wants parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, neighbors, educators, mentors and all adults to participate. Our grand finale will be held on March 16th from 4-7pm at Rolling Thunder where several local school principals will face off in a skate off! We invite you to attend this FREE community writing and skating event.

Help Camp Fire celebrate America’s children by posting a letter to the kids in your life. It’s a simple gesture whose impact can last a lifetime.

If you or your business would like to learn how to become involved, request a kit, become an event or become stamp sponsor please call the Camp Fire Office at 419-422-4515. You can also find up to date information on Jeri Bjorling’s Absolutely Incredible Kids 2017 Facebook event page.
